Further to EmIS messages 140/2025, the designated operator of Spain, Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos S.A, S.M.E. (Correos) asks us to inform Union member countries and their designated operators the fires in August luckily came to an end and operations in the formerly affected areas have returned to normal.

South Korea 29.09.2025

The designated operator of the Rep. of Korea, Korea Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that a fire on 26 September 2025 at a major national server facility has disrupted the entire postal system. The damage from the fire is significant, and full recovery is not expected in the short term. Therefore, Korea Post is facing limitations in meeting quality of service standards for all items (letter post, parcel post and EMS). Owing to the inability to verify the status of items, CN 17 requests may not be possible until further notice. All Korea Post service and call centres are affected.

Philippines 29.09.2025

Further to EmIS 222/2025, the designated operator of the Philippines, Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that weather conditions have improved and all postal operations, including mail processing and delivery, have therefore resumed as normal with effect from 29 September 2025.

Iceland 29.09.2025

Iceland Post wishes to inform that the airline Play has ceased operations and gone bankrupt. Iceland Post did not send mail with Play, so this does not affect mail transport from Iceland. However, there are some posts using Play for transport to Iceland and they need to find new routes for the mail.

Greece 29.09.2025

The designated operator of Greece, Hellenic Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that the Confederation of Greek Workers and the Association of Civil Servants have announced a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, 1 October 2025. The air traffic controllers have also announced their participation in the strike. This action will affect the collection and delivery of both international and domestic mail.

France 29.09.2025

La Poste France would like to inform IPC members that an X-ray scanner for Customs will be installed in Wissous FRWSSB. The site will be under work from September 29 to November 10. Part of the processing line will be blocked. La Poste has planned additional resources to manually inject parcels, but this may delay processing slightly.

Canada 29.09.2025

Following on from our earlier communication:

We have full strike routing contingency in place on our DDP service where we’ve pulled as much volume out of the CPC network as possible, however Canada Post labels will still generate for areas alternative carriers cannot service (PO Boxes and rural areas), these shipments will be held.

Canada 29.09.2025

Due to the national strike by the Canadian Union of postal workers, Canada Post have taken the decision to embargo Mail with immediate effect.

This will affect all postal services MaxiPak scan DDU, MiniPak Scan DDU and any untracked mail (PG & E format). DDP services are not affected.
Any volume we have received will be held and processed when Canada Post lifts the embargo.

Heavy rainfall causes flooding in Djelfa, M’sila, and Bouira provinces: Media sources reported on September 28 that heavy rainfall caused flooding in parts of the Djelfa, M’sila, and Bouira provinces in Algeria on the night of September 27. Most affected areas include M’sila, Zemoura, Ouled Moulahoum, Ain Lahdjel, Sidi Hadjeres, Sidi Aïssa, Sidi Baizid, and Messaâd, among others. Several homes and businesses were flooded. Clean-up operations are underway. Logistics and business disruptions are likely until the weather conditions improve.

Cyprus 26.09.2025

Implementation of new import system affects customs operations: Intelligence received by Everstream Analytics indicated that the implementation of a new import system (AIS) has been impacting logistics operations across Cyprus. Reportedly, import systems have been closed since September 26, while the new system was planned to be active from 12:00 local time on September 29. Customs clearance functions have been facing delays, which may persist in the coming days.
