Hellenic Post ELTA (Greece) has informed us that the Confederation of the Greek workers has announced a 24-hour strike on Wednesday 2nd October.
As a result, the processing and delivery of international mail will be affected on strike day and immediately after, due to a possible backlog from the strike with delivery delays expected. This will affect post from the 30th September 2019.
After much deliberation a compromise has been reached and the United States remains a member of the Universal Postal Union.
“By remaining in the UPU, the United States retains its important leadership role in the global postal system,” says Kate Muth, executive director of International Mailers Advisory Group, which includes Amazon and eBay.
