UKP Worldwide were approached by a leading fashion retailer to provide a reliable returns service for their US outbound traffic.

Objectives:

The returned items needed to be delivered to a local US address and repatriated back to the UK.

Results:

UKP Worldwide’s US return solution enables retailers to provide a local US return address for their US deliveries. Customers can log onto a portal and manage the process online, printing off labels and information to provide a smooth, easy to use service.

Our customer found that their sales to the US increased as their US customers could shop with confidence knowing that any unwanted purchases could be easily returned. Our client could control associated shipping costs involved in repatriating goods and reply on UKP Worldwide’s expertise in bringing items back to the UK using a fully HMRC compliant service.

US shipping with confidence

A large UK based publisher with 26 consumer magazines had a complex marketing campaign which was sent out with their various magazine titles. The campaign was cross selling magazines, books and merchandise to try and increase magazine subscriptions and product sales.

Objectives:

Our objective was to simplify the campaign without losing the personal touch! The original campaign consisted of hand matching four separate inserts, which were all personally addressed with a specific offer targeted for that reader.

Results:

After sitting down and reviewing all the content required, our data team suggested replacing the inserts with an A3 carrier sheet. Each carrier sheet was designed to amalgamate all the information and it was personalised for the individual reader, the ability to use variable data greatly enhanced this. We use a combination of different pictures, offers and currencies on a single sheet, that not only looks impressive but has saved costs for our client too.

UKP Worldwide through their partnership with USPS as an accredited Global Direct Entry Wholesaler are able to access all the USPS tracked parcel services and provide a fully compliant delivery service for items under $800. Taking care of all the EU export requirements as well as clearing into the US, our service provides customers with a 4-7 working day delivery service. UKP can also provide email triggers announcing different delivery stages keeping everyone abreast of the delivery status of every item.

Faster shipping & lowering costs with periodical services!

A leading international mailing house was mailing thousands of magazines each month to the US for one of their customers.

Objectives:

In order to retain their customers business, the mailing house wanted to show some significant postage discounts, whilst maintaining the service level and postage times.

Results:

Being fully aware that we specialise in posting magazines to the US and of our close relationship with the United States Postal Service (USPS), they approached us for the best advice. We sat down together and reviewed their current shipping timeframes and costs – we recommended switching to a Periodical postage service and, in turn, helped them register each magazine for a periodical discount. By switching to a Periodical service, both the mailing house and the customer made significant savings each month, compared to their previous postage costs, as well as improving their postage times by three to four days.

Our customer has been using direct mail for a number of years and has achieved some good results but like any business they were looking for ways to optimise their service and performance. We sat down together and took them through our variable data services and agreed to do a trial for their next campaign.

Created three offers with unique relevant messaging

These were then applied to a master creative during the printing process by applying a unique code to the customer data

Sending a personalised direct mail piece increased redemption rate to 5.8%, an increase of 3.3%!
