The CWU has formally notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action on Wednesday 30th November, Thursday 1st December, Friday 9th December and Sunday 11th December. 

Royal Mail has well-developed contingency plans, but they cannot fully replace the daily efforts of their frontline workforce. Royal Mail will be doing what they can to keep services running, but unfortunately, the planned strike action is likely to cause disruption.

Australia

Australia Post has confirmed that inbound operations at its Sydney sea mail office of exchange have resumed with effect from 21st November 2022. Therefore, sea mail can once again be sent to Sydney. All goods sent to Australia must be accompanied by electronic advance data (EAD). Operators wishing to send sea mail items to Sydney must contact Australia Post for confirmation of acceptance, prior to despatch of items.

Thailand

Thailand Post has confirmed that the two areas (13xxx and 34xxx) continue to be affected by the flooding. Operations have returned to normal in all other areas.
