Poland 25.09.2025

Poland wishes to inform that delays in accepting inbound mail entering Poland (Warsaw) are to be expected due to operational changes at Warsaw Airport (due to the closure of the Airmail Unit in WAW on September 30, 2025).

Since handling mail from aircraft has been handled by our AMU staff, ground handling agents in Warsaw will require some time to address these new challenges.

Brussels 23.09.2025

On Wednesday, September 24th, the Walloon trade unions are calling for a day of action in the public sector against various measures of the Walloon government.  Please note this is not an action organised by the trade unions of bpost.

As a result, there may be disruptions in Brussels and Wallonia. We are taking all possible measures to minimize the impact on our services. However, please be aware that due to this day of action, the delivery of letters and parcels in Brussels and Wallonia may be delayed.  

We expect only limited impact in the handling and processing of you international mail and parcels volume handled in our international Hub

South Korea 19.09.2025

Workers’ union to strike at Incheon International Airport: Media sources report that the National Airport Workers’ Solidarity will launch a general strike at the Incheon International Airport (IATA: ICN) in South Korea. The strike will start on September 19 and is expected to last until October 8 to demand better working conditions. Flight disruptions are to be anticipated.

Nepal 12.09.2025

Nepal informs that nationwide protests held on 7 and 8 September 2025 have resulted in severe damage to infrastructure across the country. Many government entities, including Nepal Post, have been affected.

 Nepal Post’s office of exchange building in Dillibazar, Kathmandu, has sustained significant damage and all of its official vehicles have been destroyed. Several post offices across the country have burned down.

 Given this unprecedented situation, Nepal is unable to maintain its regular postal operations. Therefore, it is suspending its postal services until it can identify and implement alternative solutions to restore operations.

A nationwide strike is scheduled for September 10 and 18.
Since this morning, a series of actions as part of the operation called “Bloquons tout” (“Let’s block everything”) has been taking place across the country — including blockages of roads, symbolic sites, and more.
As a result, disruptions are to be expected in the delivery and distribution of your parcels.

Authorities close Warsaw Chopin Airport due to safety measures: Media sources report that Polish authorities have temporarily closed Warsaw Chopin Airport (IATA: WAW) and its airspace on September 10, due to potential airspace violations linked to unidentified aerial objects entering Poland’s airspace during a Russian attack on Ukraine. Operations at other airports, including Warsaw Modlin Airport, Lublin Airport, and Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, have also been suspended. Logistics disruptions are likely.

Further to EmIS 115/2025, the designated operator of the Philippines, Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that the provision set out under “Alternative conveyance via surface” no longer applies. This amendment is made in accordance with EmIS 151/2025 on the suspension of international outbound surface mail services. PHLPost remains committed to ensuring safe, secure and compliant handling of postal items in alignment with international standards.

Please note: following summer schedule, airlines might be forced to give priority to passenger luggage, which may result in delays on postal flows (parcels and mail) to European and non-European destinations.
