The designated operator of Spain, Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos S.A. S.M.E (Correos), wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that it currently lacks transportation capacity to Venezuela (Bolivarian Rep.), owing to the cancellation of flights to that destination. As a result, Correos is obliged to suspend the acceptance of transit shipments to Venezuela, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations, with effect from 28 November 2025. Correos will keep its customers informed through its network of post offices, its website and other communication channels, and will provide an update via EmIS as soon as new information becomes available.

Truck drivers plan to strike in Pamplona: Media sources on October 9 reported that truck drivers plan to stage a strike in Pamplona, Spain, at 08:00 local time on October 13. The protest will take place along Avenida de Zaragoza in Cordovilla, one of the main access roads to Pamplona. The protest is planned against the government’s inaction on toll and infrastructure issues. Logistics disruptions are anticipated.

(Correos) asks us to inform Union member countries and their designated operators the fires in August luckily came to an end and operations in the formerly affected areas have returned to normal.

Due to the storm currently affecting the provinces of Valencia, Castellón, Alicante and the Balearic Islands, delivery delays may occur. We will be monitoring the delays and update you accordingly.

Several fires are currently active in the following regions and postcode areas of Spain: Cáceres (10XXX), Cádiz (11XXX), Huelva (21XXX), León (24XXX), Ourense (32XXX), Asturias (33XXX), Palencia (34XXX) and Zamora (49XXX). Owing to these fires and resulting roadblocks, disruptions and delays may be experienced in the delivery and collection of mail products in some municipalities of the above postcode areas, especially in small or remote municipalities. Mail products in affected areas will be stored until the situation is back to normal and delivery services can be resumed. This process may also be implemented in other areas potentially affected by fires in the coming days. Correos thanks all countries and their designated operators for their understanding.

Heavy rainfall causes flooding in parts of Mumbai: Media sources reported that heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding in several parts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, since the early hours of August 16. The most affected areas included Andheri, Kurla, Dadar, Sion, Chembur. According to reports, residential buildings as well as several roadways, and railway tracks were inundated, resulting in major transportation disruptions. As a result of a landslide in Vikhroli, two people were killed and two got injured. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai and Raigad districts. Business and logistic disruptions are likely until weather conditions improve.
