Spain Post advises that collection and delivery services have been disrupted in the following areas due to severe rain and flooding:
Ground staff with Iberia plan to embark on a two-day strike at Barcelona El Prat Airport starting 27th July. The labour action has been called due to an ongoing dispute with airport management about current work overload. The anticipated impact from the strike has not been immediately specified.
Workers working on the Huerna highway in Spain have called a 19-day strike during weekends and holidays starting 26th July. The highway between Asturias and Leon will be affected by work stoppages of more than 75 workers demanding better conditions.
Airport workers are planning multiple strikes over the forthcoming weeks, which is expected to go into September 2019. Aena airport workers plan multiple strikes at Bilbao Airport between 1st July and 1st September. The planned strike dates for July are as follows: 1st, 7th, 14th, 15th, 21st, 24th, 25th, 28th and 31st. Flight cancellations have already been announced and further disruptions to airport operations are to be expected.
Spain’s post has advised that all inbound and outbound operations on 8th March could be affected by a general strike called by trade unions marking International Women’s Day.
