The designated operator of Japan, Japan Post, wishes to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order dated 30 July 2025, it is temporarily suspending acceptance of open or closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will take effect on 20 August 2025, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods destined for the United States and arriving at Japan’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Hong Kong 15.08.2025

Further to EmIS 139/2025, Hongkong Post, a designated operator of China (specifically for the special administrative region of Hong Kong), wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that the processing and delivery of all mail (letters, parcels and EMS) have resumed as normal with effect from 15 August 2025.

France 15.08.2025

La Poste wishes to inform the community that we have been experiencing an IT issue since Tuesday the 12th August for some destination countries : we can’t open any dispatch for parcels. Therefore, we don’t send any data to AT, DE, BE, GB, NL, ES, LU. Export parcels from France are sent to these destinations without any data or label on the containers. We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you all that our IT department is working on the issue.

United Kingdom 14.08.2025

The designated operator of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Royal Mail, wishes to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order dated 30 July 2025, it is temporarily suspending acceptance of open or closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will take effect on 20 August 2025, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods destined for the United States and arriving at Royal Mail’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Spain 14.08.2025

The designated operator of Spain, S.E. Correos y Telégrafos S.A, S.M.E (Correos) wishes to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order dated 30 July 2025, it is temporarily suspending acceptance of open or closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will take effect on 20 August 2025, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods destined for the United States and arriving at Correos’ international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Spain 14.08.2025

The designated operator of Spain, Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos S.A, S.M.E. (Correos) asks us to inform Union member countries and their designated operators of a wildfire outbreak in certain regions of Spain. Several fires are currently active in the following regions and postcode areas of Spain: Cáceres (10XXX), Cádiz (11XXX), Huelva (21XXX), León (24XXX), Ourense (32XXX), Asturias (33XXX), Palencia (34XXX) and Zamora (49XXX). Owing to these fires and resulting roadblocks, disruptions and delays may be experienced in the delivery and collection of mail products in some municipalities of the above postcode areas, especially in small or remote municipalities. Mail products in affected areas will be stored until the situation is back to normal and delivery services can be resumed. This process may also be implemented in other areas potentially affected by fires in the coming days.

Hong Kong 14.08.2025

Typhoon causes flight disruptions in Hong Kong: Media sources on August 14 report that severe thunderstorms caused by the passage of a typhoon have disrupted flight operations at Hong Kong International Airport (IATA: HKG). As of 10:30 local time, 145 flights were delayed, and 5 flights were cancelled. Lingering disruptions to flight operations are likely until the weather conditions improve.

Belgium, bpost, informs that, in light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order dated 30 July 2025, it will no longer accept open or closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will take effect on 20 August 2025, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at bpost’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Vanuatu 12.08.2025

Further to EmIS 223/2024, the designated operator of Vanuatu, Vanuatu Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that postal operations have resumed as normal.

Germany 12.08.2025

The designated operator of Germany, Deutsche Post AG, wishes to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that, in light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order dated 30 July 2025, it will no longer accept open or closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will take effect on 20 August 2025, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at Deutsche Post’s international mail processing centres (IMPCs) will be returned to origin.
