Due to limited flight capacity delays could be expected with the transportation of inbound and outbound mail to Japan.
Japan is currently experiencing extensive delays due is being caused by the crisis in Ukraine. Airlines have limited their capacity and are having to take more complex routes which is creating delays.

Japan Post has advised that there are serious delays in the handling of outbound mail due to continuing rising volumes. This, coupled with the cancellation of flights between Japan and China, is causing congestion at sorting centres and other facilities. Japan Post is taking active steps to decrease backlogs as soon as possible. However, as more and more airlines cancel their flights to China, delays are expected to continue.
Japan Post has advised that an airport is scheduled to close due to a Typhoon, which is scheduled to hit the east of Japan on 12th October.
Although the airport will resume operations on 13th October. Japan Post is making every effort to ensure the delivery and dispatch of international mail items by using other international mail hubs.
However, delivery delays are likely during the Typhoon period.
