About 200 flights have been impacted across multiple airports in South Africa including Richards Bay, Mthatha, and King Shaka airports. The expected duration of the disruption is unclear at the time of writing.

Further to EmIS 238/2025, the designated operator of the Philippines, Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), wishes to provide Union member countries and their designated operators with an update concerning the seismic events that occurred in Cebu and Davao and the surrounding provinces. On 30 September 2025, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake was recorded, followed by a total of 722 aftershocks, with magnitudes ranging from 1.4 to 4.8. Preliminary assessments indicate damage to infrastructure and buildings in Cebu Province. Fatalities and injuries have been reported. On 10 October 2025, a major earthquake of magnitude 7.4 rocked Davao Oriental and surrounding provinces. A total of 299 aftershocks were recorded that day, with magnitudes ranging from 1.2 to 5.8. The resulting infrastructure damage is leading to disruptions in postal services in the affected areas. PHLPost is monitoring the situation closely to ensure that operations in the affected areas can be restored smoothly and efficiently.

Air traffic controllers to strike at Keflavík International Airport: Media sources reported on October 14 that air traffic controllers at Keflavík International Airport (IATA: KEF) in Iceland have announced a five-hour strike that will begin at 22:00 local time on October 19 and continue till 03:00 local time on October 20. Around five departures and ten arrivals are expected to be impacted during the strike.

The designated operator of Switzerland, Swiss Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that, with effect from 26 October 2025, the Zurich office of exchange (international mail processing centre, IMPC code CHZRHU) will be closed, and all parcel operations will be transferred to the office of exchange in Pratteln (IMPC code CHATTC). EMS dispatches currently addressed to CHZRHU should likewise be addressed to CHATTC from that date. However, EMS dispatches currently addressed to 1211 Genève 5 Exchange (IMPC code CHGVAA) are unaffected. This information will also be published by means of an International Bureau circular.

Nationwide strike impacts postal services: Intelligence received by Everstream Analytics indicated that local trade unions have called a 24-hour nationwide strike from 00:01 local time on October 14 across Belgium. As a result, disruptions to bpost’s domestic as well as international logistics network, the letter and parcel-post deliveries are to be expected. In addition, all inbound and outbound flights at Brussels Airport (IATA: BRU) have been cancelled.
