Swiss Post has confirmed that the covid restrictions have now been lifted and postal services have returned to normal. 

The weather in the eastern part of Switzerland has now stabilised and mail services resumed on 17th January, with the exceptions of a few homes that remain isolated.

Previously impacted postcode areas were 72xx, 73xx, 75xx, 76xx and 77xx due to roads closures.

Please note a few days may be required to clear any backlog, hence may still observe some delays through to the weekend.

Swiss Post has advised heavy snowfall is affecting delivery in the alpine region of Canton Graubünden in the eastern part of Switzerland. As a result, it’s difficult, and in some parts impossible to deliver mail in the postcode areas 72xx, 73xx, 75xx, 76xx and 77xx due to road closures and avalanche warnings.

It’s not known at this time when normal postal operations will resume as more snowfall is forecasted for the next few days.
