Jamaica Post has confirmed that the Government of Jamaica has extended the national curfew until 1 July 2021.

Revised working shifts/hours will continue to apply across the entire postal network, affecting sorting operations, mail delivery and the dispatch of mail vans, as well as the timely provision of EDI messaging updates and responses to online customer inquiries.

The force majeure situation previously announced continues to apply, with an impact on quality of service for all types of mail, including inbound and outbound letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items.

Jamaica Post has advised that the Government of Jamaica has extended the national curfew until 31st December 2020.

Revised working shifts/hours will continue across the entire postal network, which will have an impact on the service levels provided and potential delays could be experienced.

Jamaica has put quarantine measures in place across the country which Jamaica Post need to comply with. As a result, they may have reduced workforce and some mail services not available. Signature on delivery services has currently being suspended. Delays with mail services are to be expected.

Jamaica Post advised that postal operations have been disrupted due to tremors associated with the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Caribbean on 28th January. There was an emergency evacuation of the international mail processing centre in Kingston and all inbound and outbound mail operations are affected.
