Jamaica Post has confirmed that they have resumed full operations following the shutdown caused by the noxious fumes. However, they have advised there will be some delays in mail processing from 21st May to 7th June, whilst they clear the backlog.

Jamaica – Outbound airmail delays

Jamaica Post has advised that they have been experiencing airlift challenges since 8th April, due to capacity challenges arising from the grounding of Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

This has resulted in several dispatches being rerouted to alternative air carriers and in some cases not being airlifted at all. The situation is being actively addressed and Jamaica Post will provide an update as soon as possible.

Jamaica – Disruption of Internet services

Jamaica Post has advised they have had intermittent internet problems since Thursday 14th February.

The disruption has affected the production of documents for outbound mail and the sending of electronic messages for inbound mail.

Jamaica Post has advised that they have been unable to forward outbound dispatches, including mail in transit, owing to challenges with scanning machine at the airport.
