The designated operator of Austria, Österreichische Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order dated 30 July 2025, it is temporarily suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will take effect on 25 August 2025, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at Österreichische Post’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Österreichische Post advises that all postal operations have returned to normal following the severe weather conditions and ensuing floods.
