Slovakia

The postal operator of Slovakia has confirmed that the Slovakian Government has implemented strict lockdown measures throughout the country with effect from 25th November 2021. Furthermore, a national state of emergency has been implemented for 90 days. The national lockdown will have an effect on postal delays due to a reduced workforce.

Slovenská Pošta had advised that the state of emergency previously announced has now ended. However, the restrictions in terms of service standards and application of force majeure announced in previous EmIS messages remain in place. Slovenská Pošta thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.

Slovenská pošta has advised that the Slovakian Government announced a new lockdown which will last until at least the 10th January 2021.

Slovenská pošta will continue to operate and provide postal services but with a reduced workforce and reduced hours. Processing and delivery delays are to be expected.

Following a security incident, there was a restriction on operations at the International Mail Hub on Thursday 13th February, resulting in a one day delay. All operations have now returned to normal.

Slovakia Post is performing IT system maintenance from 4th-6th January 2020. All postal operations will be closed during this time, which could result in some delays.
