Heavy rainfall causes flooding: Media sources report on October 21 that heavy rainfall caused flooding across several states in Venezuela. The affected areas include the states of Sucre, Monagas, Anzoategui, Bolivar, Carabobo, Falcon and Caracas. Flooding caused the collapse of the La Fuente bridge in Sucre and the La Aricagua I between Cumanacoa and Aricagua. Damages to homes and businesses have been reported across the affected states. Business and logistics disruptions are to be expected.
Flight delays occur at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport: Media sources report on October 21 that flight delays occurred at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport (IATA: JNB) in South Africa due to the suspension of instrumentation flight procedures. About 200 flights have been impacted across multiple airports in South Africa including Richards Bay, Mthatha, and King Shaka airports. The expected duration of the disruption is unclear at the time of writing.
Further to EmIS 238/2025, the designated operator of the Philippines, Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), wishes to provide Union member countries and their designated operators with an update concerning the seismic events that occurred in Cebu and Davao and the surrounding provinces. On 30 September 2025, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake was recorded, followed by a total of 722 aftershocks, with magnitudes ranging from 1.4 to 4.8. Preliminary assessments indicate damage to infrastructure and buildings in Cebu Province. Fatalities and injuries have been reported. On 10 October 2025, a major earthquake of magnitude 7.4 rocked Davao Oriental and surrounding provinces. A total of 299 aftershocks were recorded that day, with magnitudes ranging from 1.2 to 5.8. The resulting infrastructure damage is leading to disruptions in postal services in the affected areas. PHLPost is monitoring the situation closely to ensure that operations in the affected areas can be restored smoothly and efficiently.
