USA 10.04.2025
On April 2nd there was an executive order from the USA administration to increase the tariffs on all countries globally which came into effect on April 5th, 2025, at 12:01am EDT. Currently, the Duty free de-minimis remains, except for China and Hong Kong, which will removed as of May 2nd 2025.
This is a very fluid situation with further Executive Orders (EO14256 & EO14257) from the USA on April 8th & 9th on De Minimis tariffs on goods with origin China/HK.
The list of reciprocal Tariffs published 2nd April has been reduced to 10% for all countries except for China and Hong Kong for a period of 90 days.
- All relevant postal items containing goods that are sent through the international postal network that are valued at, or under $800 and that would otherwise qualify for the de minimis exemption are subject to:
- a duty rate of either 90% of their value;
- or $75 per item effective May 2, 2025, increasing to $150 per item after June 1, 2025
- Goods not eligible for the above (Imported goods sent through means other than the international postal network) De Minimis tariffs will have 125% duty (adapted as of 9th April from a new executive order, previously it was 104%) and is effective immediately. This only affects eCommerce goods as of 2nd May when the De Minimis tariff to the US for goods with origin CN & HK ends.
