Uruguay 06.09.2025

Correo Uruguayo informs that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of postal items containing goods destined for the United States of America. Any misrouted items containing goods destined for the United States that arrive in Uruguay will be returned to the country of origin.

 This measure came into effect on 1 September 2025 and will remain in force until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

Peru 04.09.2025

Further to EmIS 196/2025, the designated operator of Peru, Servicios Postales del Perú (SERPOST), wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that the postal worker strike called on 1 September 2025 ended on 3 September. Accordingly, all postal services in Peru are once again operating normally.

France, Ghana & Peru 03.09.2025

The Office of Posts and Telecommunications (OPT-PF), Ghana Post, Servicios Postales del Peru S.A. (SERPOST), informs that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 26 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at OPT-PF’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Maldives, Grenada, South Africa & Guyana 28.08.2025

Maldives Post, Grenada Postal Corporation,  South African Post Office (SAPO),  Guyana Post Office Corporation wishes to inform that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 28 August 2025 until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States will be returned to origin.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Mexico, Belize, Aruba, Curaçao & Sint Maarten 28.08.2025

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Postal Corporation (SVG Post), Servicio Postal Mexicano, Belize Postal Service, Post Aruba,  wishes to inform that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of postal items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 27 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

 Accordingly, as of this date only postal items classified as documents will continue to be accepted and any misrouted items containing goods destined for the United States will be returned to origin.

Portugal 27.08.2025

CTT Correios de Portugal, wishes to inform that Menzies, which provides ground handling services, has announced another series of strikes.

 The strikes may have a significant impact on airmail handling operations, particularly the dispatch and receipt of international items. The disruption may also affect shipments to and from the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores.

 The strikes will be held according to the following schedule, from 00.00 to 24.00 in each case:

  • September: 3–9, 12–15, 19–22 and 26–28
  • October: 3–6, 10–13, 17–20, 24–27 and 31–3 November
  • November: 7–10, 14–17, 21–24 and 28–1 December
  • December: 5–8, 12–15 and 19–2 January 2026
