Further to the update from 14th October 2022, El Salvador operator, Correos de El Salvador wishes to inform that heavy rainfall has ceased and postal services have returned to normal.

Correos de El Salvador have advised that heavy rainfall from Storm Julia has caused disruption to road networks throughout the country. This is affecting the collection and distribution of mail items across the country. 

The entire territory of El Salvador is under quarantine until 1st April 2020 or until a later date with a decree of extraordinary measures adopted. To minimise human contact and protect workers, Correos de El Salvador is to significantly reduce its workforce across the whole logistics chain. As a result, delivery delays are to be expected. 

The airline has advised mail shipments will resume from Friday 28th February 2020. All mail being held will be processed for shipment and any backlog cleared by 8th March 2020. 

The airline is temporarily unable to accept mail and parcels for El Salvador. Mail is being held pending resumption of service. As a result, delays can be expected.
