Aviation workers join nationwide transport strike across airports in Italy: Media sources indicated that aviation workers planned to join the nationwide transport sector strike across airports in Italy. Ground handlers, pilots and general airport personnel reportedly announced a strike between 00:01 and 23:59local time on March 24. Minimum guaranteed services will be maintained between 07:00 and 10:00, as well as, between 18:00 and 21:00 local time on the same day. Delays and cancellations of flight services are to be expected.

Union threatens with 6-day strike at Barcelona International Airport: Media sources reported that the UGT union has threatened to launch a 6-day strike against aircraft handling company, Groundforce BCN, at Barcelona International Airport in Spain over working conditions. Negotiations between the company and the union are scheduled for March 18. If no agreement is reached, the strikes are expected to take place on March 21, 23, 28 and 30 and April 4 and 6. Disruptions to flight operations are to be expected if the strike materializes.

Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom – 21.03.2025

As reported in the news, Heathrow Airport is closed today, Friday 21st March 2025 due to a giant fire causing a power outage to the airport and surrounding areas. All flights in and out of Heathrow Airport have been cancelled. The airport will remain closed until midnight but travel disruptions are expected to last into the weekend.
