Heavy rainfall causes flooding in western parts of Andalusia: Local media sources reported on April 4 that heavy rains caused by Storm Nuria triggered flooding and related disruptions in several areas of western Andalusia, Spain.

Flooding affected parts of Seville, Coria del Río, Cádiz, and several towns in Huelva. Heavy rains impacted road and rail transport and thus, disruptions to businesses and logistics are expected to persist.

Weather conditions disrupt flights in Chicago: Media sources reported on April 2 that 400 flights were delayed due to inclement weather conditions at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, United States. It remains unclear how long the disruptions will last, but further flight disruptions are possible.

State of disaster declared in all counties in Kentucky amid heavy flooding: Media sources reported that the United States government declared a state of disaster in all counties in Kentucky due to flooding.

The flooding began on April 4 and was expected to continue until at least April 6. The heaviest flooding has been located along the Ohio River as well as in southeastern parts of the state, but all regions were expected to ultimately be affected. At least one person died due to flooding as of the time of writing. Lingering disruptions are likely.

The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform that staff at the Malpensa Lonate Pozzolo (ITMXPA) office of exchange (OE) have been operating on a strictly work-to-rule basis since 27 March 2025.

 Although industrial relations have been ongoing, as of 1 April, an unauthorized strike has been called by some unions, involving ITMXPA OE personnel. Currently, the OE is closed by pickets, and the strike is set to last until 2 April at 6.00 local time. 

 Significant delays in processing inbound and outbound parcels and EMS are to be expected because of the strike and because of the backlog that has been building up since 27 March.

The designated operator of Thailand, Thailand Post, wishes to inform that the 8.2-magnitude earthquake of 28 March 2025, centred in Myanmar, has affected various areas of Bangkok.

 The Governor of Bangkok has declared the capital a level 2 disaster zone, effective from 28 March 2025, as the earthquake has caused damage to many high-rise buildings and roads, resulting in road blockages.
