The designated operator of Germany, Deutsche Post AG, wishes to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that, in light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order dated 30 July 2025, it will no longer accept open or closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will take effect on 20 August 2025, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at Deutsche Post’s international mail processing centres (IMPCs) will be returned to origin.
The designated operator of Cabo Verde, Correios de Cabo Verde, wishes to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that, following the storm and heavy rains that hit São Vicente Island on 11 August 2025 in the early hours of the morning, the post offices in São Vicente will be temporarily closed. The processing and delivery of all mail (letters, parcels and EMS) will be affected.
