Further to EmIS 196/2025, the designated operator of Peru, Servicios Postales del Perú (SERPOST), wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that the postal worker strike called on 1 September 2025 ended on 3 September. Accordingly, all postal services in Peru are once again operating normally.

Truck drivers plan nationwide strike on July 24–25: Media sources report on July 15 that truck drivers across Peru will launch a nationwide strike on July 24 and 25 to protest rising extortion and government inaction. The strike is organized by the National Association of Drivers (ANCPP), with a mass rally planned at Plaza Dos de Mayo in Lima, followed by a march to the Public Ministry. Coordination is underway to extend the strike through July 28 with support from regional transport groups. Business disruptions can be expected during the strike.

Truck drivers announce nationwide indefinite strike: Media sources reported on June 16 that truck drivers will begin an indefinite nationwide strike across Peru on June 18. The strike is supported by Asotrani, the National Transport Alliance, and the Gamarra Businesswomen’s Association unions and was called due to rising extortion cases and the lack of government response to it. Widespread disruptions to cargo movement are to be expected.

Truck drivers launch strike in Lima: Media sources reported on May 27 that the Callao truck drivers’ union has launched a strike on the same day. The intermittent strike was launched to protest against rules for the road system near the port. It is unclear how long the strike will last.

Serpost and the Government of Peru has advised a state of emergency of the national road network and demonstrations in place. Delays are likely to be experienced as a result.

Servicios Postales del Peru S.A. (SERPOST) has advised that freight carriers initiated a strike on 4th April 2022. As a result, the Peruvian Government declared a state of immobilisation on 5th April which will result in delays in the processing of all inbound and outbound mail items.
