Italy 25.08.2025

The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 25 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at Poste Italiane’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

France 25.08.2025

The designated operator of France, La Poste Group, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 25 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at La Poste Group’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Fiji 25.08.2025

The designated operator of Fiji, Post Fiji Ltd, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 19 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations. Any transit or misrouted items containing goods that are destined for the United States and arrive at Post Fiji’s international mail processing centres will be returned to origin.

Lebanon, Trinidad, Tobago & New Caledonia

LibanPost, TTPost and The Office of Posts and Telecommunications (OPT-NC) wishes to inform you that, in light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 26 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

 Accordingly, it should be noted that:

  • only postal items classified as documents will continue to be accepted;

any misrouted items containing goods destined for the United States that arrive after 25 August 2025 will be returned to origin.

Qatar & Morocco 25.08.2025

Qatar Post & Poste Maroc wishes to inform you that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 28 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

 Accordingly:

  • Only postal items classified as documents (with no declared value) will continue to be accepted;

Any misrouted postal items containing goods destined for the United States that arrive after the effective date will be returned to origin.
