Heavy rainfall causes flooding in parts of Mumbai: Media sources reported that heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding in several parts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, since the early hours of August 16. The most affected areas included Andheri, Kurla, Dadar, Sion, Chembur. According to reports, residential buildings as well as several roadways, and railway tracks were inundated, resulting in major transportation disruptions. As a result of a landslide in Vikhroli, two people were killed and two got injured. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai and Raigad districts. Business and logistic disruptions are likely until weather conditions improve.
