Latvijas Pasta has advised that due to the number of covid infections amongst operational staff and temporary closures of several post offices, there are significant delays in the processing and the delivery of inbound and outbound postal items.
Latvian postal operator, Latvijas Pasts has confirmed that the heavy snowfall has ended and the situation returned to normal on 14th December 2021.
The postal operator of Latvia, Latvijas Pasts confirms that the Latvian Government has declared a full national lockdown owing to the situation regarding COVID. The lockdown is effective immediately and will be reviewed on 14th November 2021. As a result, the processing of inbound and outbound mail may be affected.
Latvia Government has extended the state of emergency until 11th January 2021. During the state of emergency postal services will continue to function with restrictions such as reduced hours and reduced workforce to minimise contact between people. Delivery delays could be experienced during this time.

Latvian Post have advised that a state of emergency has been declared by the Government from 9 November until 6 December 2020 and possibly beyond. Postal services will continue to function with reduced working hours and workforce. Signatures will not be collected on delivery. The measures will affect the processing and delivery of all mail types, with Force Majeure declared until the state of emergency is lifted.
