Heavy rainfall causes flooding in Johor Bahru: Media sources reported that heavy rainfall caused flooding in parts of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on the afternoon of April 13. Affected areas include Pasir Gudang Highway, Johor Jaya, and Permas Jaya. Parts of Kulai and Kota Tinggi were also affected by floodwater. As a result, traffic on several roads was impacted. Evacuations and logistics disruptions are to be expected until weather conditions improve. |
Thailand Post has informed that postal operations have resumed as normal.
Several areas of Selangor hit by flash floods: Media sources report that several areas of Selangor, Malaysia, have been hit by flash floods after continuous heavy rainfall since the early morning of April 11. The affected areas include parts of Petaling, Puchong, Klang and Shah Alam, affecting local roads and prompting residents to evacuate. Lingering logistics disruptions are to be expected until floodwaters recede.
On April 2nd there was an executive order from the USA administration to increase the tariffs on all countries globally which came into effect on April 5th, 2025, at 12:01am EDT. Currently, the Duty free de-minimis remains, except for China and Hong Kong, which will removed as of May 2nd 2025.
This is a very fluid situation with further Executive Orders (EO14256 & EO14257) from the USA on April 8th & 9th on De Minimis tariffs on goods with origin China/HK.
The list of reciprocal Tariffs published 2nd April has been reduced to 10% for all countries except for China and Hong Kong for a period of 90 days.

Ground stop order in effect at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport: Local sources indicated that a storm system prompted a ground stop order at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia, United States on the evening of April 10. According to sources, outbound delays of up to 90 minutes occurred, while several inbound flights were diverted. The measure has since been lifted, however, further disruptions due to backlogs may occur.
Hellenic Post have advised that the Confederation of Greek Workers and the Association of Civil Servants have announced a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, 9 April. The air traffic controllers have also announced their participation in the strike.
This action will affect the collection and delivery of both international and domestic mail.

LibanPost wishes to update everyone on the current situation in Lebanon and the impact on postal operations.
Since the start of the Israeli military actions on 19 September 2024, ongoing missile, drone and airstrikes have been resulting in civilian casualties and mass destruction of various locations all over Lebanon. Most post office branches in the south of Lebanon are currently closed, along with several located in the southern region of Beirut.
The sorting centre remains operational, though with very limited capacity for the following reasons:

Employees of Correo Argentino launch nationwide strikes on April 8 and 10: Media sources reported on April 8 that employees of Correo Argentino launched a 24-hour strike on April 8. The workers will also join the 24-hour nationwide general strike scheduled for April 10. The strike actions were called to demand a salary increase. Postal service disruptions may occur during the strike periods.
Flights face disruptions at Dallas Fort Worth Airport: On March 4, media sources reported that inclement weather conditions caused flight disruptions at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, United States. According to sources, at least 275 flights were cancelled and 417 flights were delayed by 11:00 local time on the same day. Authorities implemented a ground delay program, while delays reportedly averaged around 5 hours and 18 minutes. A wind advisory for the area was issued to remain in place until at least 21:00 local time on March 4
Poste Maroc has informed that it has declared a case of force majeure following a fire on 27 March 2025 at the import warehouse in the Royal Air Maroc freight zone at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.
As a result, delays are to be expected in the processing and delivery of inbound EMS items sent to the Poste Maroc office of exchange (IMPC code: MACASE).
