Heavy rainfall causes flooding in Puntarenas province: Media sources reported on June 25 that 169 flood incidents occurred across 19 cantons in Costa Rica since June 24. Emergencies were reported in San José, Curridabat, Alajuelita, Upala, Guatuso, San Carlos (Alajuela) and Buenos Aires in Puntarenas province. Flooding, landslides, and collapsed sewage systems caused evacuations, road blockages, and facility damage across these areas. Further to EmIS 078/2025, the designated operator of Panama, Correos Panamá, would like to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that it is still experiencing delays in the distribution and delivery of postal items (letter post, parcel post and EMS), owing to ongoing protests and road closures. Post offices have been closed in the Bocas del Toro province following the state of emergency declared by the Government of Panama as a result of the unrest.
