Flash flooding and power outages in parts of Chiayi County: Media sources reported on June 26 that heavy rainfall on the afternoon of the same day had caused flash flooding and power outages affecting over 17,000 customers in parts of Chiayi County, Taiwan. Roads were waterlogged, and many homes were flooded in parts of Minxiong Township, Shuishui Township and Xingang Township, while traffic congestion was also recorded. Power has since been restored to the affected customers by about 21:00 local time the same night. Business and logistics disruptions are likely to persist until floodwaters recede. Rainfall and hail are forecast for June 27. |
Monsoonal storms causes flooding in El Paso: Media sources reported that monsoonal storms on the morning of June 25 led to flash flooding in El Paso, Texas, United States. Waterlogged roads were indicated with up to 2.2 inches of water in northeastern districts, and 0.78 inches of rain in roads leading up to the El Paso International Airport. In addition, inundation reportedly disrupted traffic on the Interstate 10 roadway at Paisano Drive. Lingering logistics disruptions are expected until floodwaters recede.
