Qatar Post & Poste Maroc wishes to inform you that, in the light of the new import requirements introduced by the US executive order of 30 July 2025, it is suspending the acceptance of open and closed transit items containing goods destined for the United States of America. This measure will be effective from 28 August 2025 and until further notice, in accordance with article 17-013 of the Convention Regulations.

 Accordingly:

  • Only postal items classified as documents (with no declared value) will continue to be accepted;

Any misrouted postal items containing goods destined for the United States that arrive after the effective date will be returned to origin.

Further to EmIS 058/2025, the designated operator of Morocco, Poste Maroc, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that postal operations have resumed as normal.

Technical issue with customs system in Morocco causes shipment delays: Intelligence received by Everstream Analytics on July 15 reports that the MA Customs System in Morocco has been experiencing technical issues since the afternoon of the same day. The processing of dutiable shipments is expected to be delayed by 24-hours. It is unclear how long it will take to resolve the technical issues with the customs system.

Shipments face 24-hour delay following technical issue with customs system: Intelligence received by Everstream Analytics on April 24 reported that a technical issue with the Automated Base for Networked Customs (BADR) has led to delays in import and export shipments. A 24-hour delay is expected for all dutiable shipments. Local authorities have been working to resolve the disruption. The issue is believed to have begun on the morning of April 24.

Poste Maroc has informed that it has declared a case of force majeure following a fire on 27 March 2025 at the import warehouse in the Royal Air Maroc freight zone at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.

As a result, delays are to be expected in the processing and delivery of inbound EMS items sent to the Poste Maroc office of exchange (IMPC code: MACASE).
