USA 06.01.2025

A National Day of Observance has been declared to honour the death of former President, Jimmy Carter.

The Postal Service will suspend regular mail deliveries, retail services and administrative office activity on Thursday 9th January 2025.

There will be limited package delivery service on 9th January to ensure the organisation does not experience any impacts to its package delivery operations that may negatively affect customers or business partners.

All Postal Service facilities – including Headquarters in Washington, DC, and area and district administrative offices – are included in the National Day of Observance.
Local managers will advise employees on staffing levels to maintain operations and prepare for the resumption of regular activities Friday 10th January.

Italy 20.12.2024

Poste Italiane has advised that BCUBE (Post Italiane’s airmail unit (AMU) service provider) is currently thoroughly testing its IT systems and all the associated processes before opening the systems to external networks. The aim is to ensure the new IT environment is up to speed and able to meet all necessary requirements. At present, processes are still slowed down owing to the implementation of additional steps in the IT security routine. Hopefully, they will speed up over the next few days.
