Technical issues disrupt customs processes at Frankfurt Airport: Shipping sources reported on May 21 that message transmission issues have disrupted import deliveries at Frankfurt International Airport, Germany. The technical issues have since been resolved, but import deliveries are still delayed as the shipment backlog is still being worked through. Operations are expected to normalize by May 22. |
Due to a strike by some national unions on 19 and 20 May 2025, the collection and delivery of both domestic and international parcels may be delayed.
Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) intends to begin strike activity as of Friday, 23 May at midnight local time, unless the parties reach agreements before then.
In the event of rotating strikes by CUPW, Canada will continue delivery service and will make every effort to minimize service disruptions. However, customers should be prepared for possible delays in the processing and delivery of mail and parcels.
In the event of a national labour disruption, Canada will continue to accept all international items, including EMS, until further notice. Items will be held in secure storage and will not be processed until the disruption is over. Once operations resume, items will be delivered as quickly as possible.
Following either a rotating strike or a national labour disruption, processing and delivery may take some time to fully return to normal.
The major Belgian unions have announced a national demonstration scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 20th. While we are making every effort to minimize the impact on our services, we would like to inform you that this industrial action may affect the delivery of mail and parcels within Belgium.
There is also a possibility of slight delays in the handling and departure of your international shipments as incoming and outgoing flights might be delayed.
