Please be informed that the major Belgian unions have announced a national demonstration scheduled to take place in Belgium on Monday, March 31, 2025.  
This industrial action will affect the delivery of mail and parcels within Belgium. 
Additionally, ground handlers, airport staff, and airline personnel will participate in this industrial action, which will lead to disruptions in the handling of inbound and outbound mail and parcel volumes at Brussels Airport. As a result, delays are very likely.

Italy 26.03.2025

The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform that Catania International Airport will be closed during night-time hours from 31 March to 30 October 2025.

As a result, items with expected delivery times of up to four working days addressed to the Sicily region originating both from Italy and from other countries may be subject to delays.

Malta 25.03.2025

The designated operator of Malta, MaltaPost, wishes to inform that owing to the implementation of a new import system by the Maltese customs authorities, it is currently experiencing delays in the processing of mail items subject to customs clearance. 

 MaltaPost is working with the Maltese customs authorities to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.

The designated operator of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Royal Mail, would like to advise that normal operations have been restored and all import and export functions have resumed according to the usual schedule

Belgium 25.03.2025

The designated operator of Belgium, bpost informs that the major Belgian trade unions have called a 24-hour interprofessional strike, commencing at 00.01 CET (UTC+1) on Monday, 31 March 2025.

 This industrial action is expected to affect various sectors and industries across the country, including the delivery of letter post and parcel post, and bpost’s domestic and international logistics network. The strike will also involve ground handlers and other airport and airline personnel. 

Therefore, disruption and delays are to be expected in the handling of inbound and outbound airmail dispatches at Brussels Airport.
