The Cagliari Sorting Centre has now resumed normal operations after last week’s fire.

Due to a fire which occurred during the night in the servicing area of the sorting centre in Cagliari, the building is temporarily closed until site checks by the fire brigade and police are completed.

Operations will resume as soon as the all-clear is given but as a result, delivery delays can be expected for mail services in the Cagliari region, including Sardinia, until normal operation resumes. Postcode affected areas are: 09100, 09121, 09122, 09123, 09124, 09125, 09126, 09127, 09128, 09129, 09131 and 09134.

Strike action reported on the 24th July has continued through the weekend and is ongoing. Unfortunately, this means severe delivery delays will be experienced in Italy.

Maintenance work is taking place at a local airport between 18th July-31st July 2019. To keep disruption to a minimum, the work will only take place between the hours of 10 pm and 4 am. Delivery delays to Sardinia of up to 24-hours are expected as a result.

Normal service has resumed following union involvement with staff at Malpensa Office of Exchange (International Mail Hub).
