Bhutan Post has advised the lockdown in high risk areas has been lifted from 26th September. Normal service has resumed and Bhutan Post is able to receive and deliver domestic and international mail throughout the country. As flight availability is still restricted, items may take longer to be delivered.

Bhutan Post has advised the Royal Government of Bhutan have declared a nationwide lockdown effective from 11th August until further notice. The lockdown measures include the restriction of movement of people and vehicles within the country. Owing to the national lockdown Bhutan Post has to suspend its daily operations of both domestic and international mail. It is expected to have an impact on the service quality of both inbound and outbound international mail and delays are to be expected. We will keep you informed of any changes.

Bhutan has put special quarantine measures in place against the coronavirus. Bhutan Post is currently working with a reduced workforce and is currently unable to fulfil all services, including signature on delivery which is currently suspended. Delays to mail delivery is to be expected.
