Belgium

Bpost has advised that due to the second wave of coronavirus, the Belgium Government has announced a second lockdown from 2nd November until 13th December 2020. Bpost will continue to process and deliver items in compliance with lockdown measures, which are likely to result in processing and delivery delays for all mail items throughout the country. Items requiring a signature will be signed by the delivery person on behalf of the customer while in their presence.

Belgium

Belgium Post has advised that they will continue to operate normally as far as possible. However, several measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. For all international mail that would normally require a signature, the mail carrier will sign for the delivery in place of the customer (in the customer’s presence). They are currently unable to guarantee delivery times due to the number of cancelled flights impacting the transportation of international mail. Delivery delays are to be expected.

Belgium – Strike

Bpost has advised that a national general strike has been announced in Belgium for 13th February 2019. Road traffic in the country is expected to be heavily disrupted, which will likely affect postal services.

Air traffic controllers and ground handlers at Brussels airport are also expected to take part in the strike, which will likely have an impact on inbound and outbound postal operations.

Bpost thanks everyone for their understanding.
