Flooding causes disruptions in South Chungcheongnam and Gyeonggi : Media sources reported on July 17 that heavy rainfall overnight had caused flooding and transport disruptions across South Chungcheongnam and Gyeonggi Provinces, South Korea. Authorities issued flood warnings for 14 out of 15 cities and counties in South Chungcheong, while collapsed walls and road flooding were reported in Osan and other areas of Gyeonggi. Major expressways, including the Daejeon–Dangjin and Seohaean routes, faced closures due to landslides and flooding. Further business and logistics disruptions are likely while heavy rainfall conditions persist.

Further to EER 20 (EmIS 059/2025 and 063/2025 and 75/2025), the designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform all countries and their designated operators that the problems caused by data transmission/reception issues occurred between March and April 2025 have been solved. However, due to the highly complex industrial relations within the organization of Poste Italiane’s external service provider responsible for processing at the ITMXPA Office of Exchange, EMS and inbound parcel services are slowed down and delays are to be expected due to backlogs. The contract with the current provider has been terminated, effective August 31, 2025. The newly appointed service provider will take effect on September 1.

Postal workers launch nationwide strike : Media sources reported on July 14 that workers of the Joint Postal Trade Union Front (JPTU) have launched a nationwide postal strike across Sri Lanka from 00:00 local time on July 15. The union announced that the action will involve the complete withdrawal from all overtime duties across post offices and administrative offices, which will result in severe disruptions to postal services across the country. At the time of writing, it is unclear how long the strike will last.

Further to EmIS messages 078/2025 and 099/2025, the designated operator of Panama, Correos Panamá, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that, following negotiations with the competent authorities and the protesters, all roads blockages throughout the country have been lifted. As a result, postal services have resumed as normal. Furthermore, the post offices in the province of Bocas del Toro that were closed to protect postal workers and customers (serving postcode areas 0100, 0101, 0104, 0106, 0108 and 0103) have reopened.

Technical issue with customs system in Morocco causes shipment delays: Intelligence received by Everstream Analytics on July 15 reports that the MA Customs System in Morocco has been experiencing technical issues since the afternoon of the same day. The processing of dutiable shipments is expected to be delayed by 24-hours. It is unclear how long it will take to resolve the technical issues with the customs system.
