We would like to inform you that Canada Post has received strike notices from the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) for both Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units. CUPW has indicated its intent to begin strike activity as of Friday, May 23 at 12:00 AM (local time), unless agreements are reached before then.

At this time, Canada Post operations continue as usual, but customers should be prepared for possible service delays.

What You Can Expect

  • If rotating strike activity occurs, Canada Post plans to continue deliveries in unaffected areas and work toward reaching agreements.
  • In the event of a national labour disruption, Canada Post will continue accepting international mail and parcels, which will be securely held until service resumes.
  • Following any disruption, it may take time for processing and delivery to return to normal levels.
